The firm was pleased to have Eric join as an Of Counsel member in 2011 after serving as the chief advancement officer for the National Academies in Washington D.C. for three years.  He previously served as vice president for resource development at Rice University and led their first comprehensive campaign (over $500 million raised).  No stranger to large campaigns, during his seven-year tenure at Carnegie Mellon University, Eric led their successful $350 million campaign in the 1990’s.  His advancement career began at MIT where, for 20 years, he served in a variety of positions. 

Prior to his university advancement career, Eric worked as an engineer with Kennecott Copper Corporation.  He returned to industry in 1981-82 to work as a marketing manager with Zanussi S.p.A. in Italy.  Marts & Lundy was happy to see him return to advancement work in the non-profit sector and welcomes him as member of the firm's Higher Education Practice Group.

A native of Fargo, North Dakota, Eric and his wife, Kathleen, now reside in Alexandria, Virginia.
