Rocky joined Marts & Lundy in 2016 with more than 40 years of experience in independent school management and consulting. In 1994, he founded Ford & Associates with a specific focus on providing comprehensive development counsel for independent schools; his firm has worked with more than 300 clients across the United States, in Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America.

Prior to his consulting career, Rocky was the Assistant Headmaster for Development at The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1976–1992. There, he established and managed the School’s first admission and development offices, respectively. For a portion of that time, he also managed the business office and served on three search committees. Rocky was the Founding Vice Chair of the Atlanta International School, coordinating a search for the first Head of School, chairing the first Development Committee and training the School’s first Director of Development.

Rocky’s expertise in independent school development has led to his reputation as a national and international development consultant. A presenter of seminars for CASE, NAIS, ECIS, CASE Europe and national regional associations, Rocky also has served on two SACS accreditation teams and three CASE/NAIS planning committees; he chaired the CASE/NAIS annual conference in St. Louis. An honest and skilled consultant, facilitator and communicator, he excels at helping clients worldwide maximize their potential by setting appropriately aggressive goals, encouraging best practices and having fun in the process.
