Fundraising campaigns play an integral role in the growth and maturation of foundations. Preliminary planning often provides the impetus to rethink foundation funding models, foster closer relationships between institution and foundation leadership, and focus the foundation board on philanthropic leadership. During the course of a campaign, foundation operations are expanded and enhanced, and donor relationships proliferate and deepen. When properly managed, a campaign can permanently enhance foundations’ governance, operational, and development capacity. This session discusses key questions boards should be asking throughout the campaign cycle.
