Daniel P. Saftig
Dan Saftig has enjoyed a 35-year career in fundraising, serving four large public universities and providing consulting services to numerous colleges, universities, and nonprofit organizations across the country.
Dan prepares organizations for ambitious fundraising campaigns, often the largest in their respective histories. Since 2012, he has advised nearly 40 clients with campaign goals ranging from $25 million to over $2 billion.
Dan is passionate about maximizing philanthropy through skillful leadership and cohesive team performance. Known as an outstanding fundraising coach, strategist, and mentor to many advancement leaders and their senior teams, Dan also earns the trust and confidence of university presidents and volunteer leaders.
Dan’s broad fundraising expertise is drawn from leadership positions at Arizona State University, Iowa State University, the University of Minnesota, and Penn State University. His fundraising experience began with the American Heart Association in Wisconsin and California and as executive campaign director for CCS, a national consulting firm.
Dan started his career as sports information director at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He also holds a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from the University of San Francisco. Dan is a John Maxwell-certified coach, trainer and speaker on issues related to leadership and healthy and productive teams.
