Sarah joined Marts&Lundy in 2017, adding expertise in strategic communications, storytelling, digital publishing and video production.
In her 15 years of experience in strategic communications and journalism she has won a regional Emmy for interactive video production as well as awards in journalism.
Previously, Sarah worked for seven years as a communications director for the Mayor of Phoenix, the Arizona Legislature, a Congressional campaign, as well as an interactive marketing and communications director for Arizona State University’s largest college, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. There, she oversaw marketing for prospective students, produced and directed marketing videos, published the college’s magazine and oversaw implementation of website redesign and SEO.
Within the journalism world, Sarah has worked as an editor for Gannett, the parent company of USA Today and the Arizona Republic, where she edited stories from news outlets across the nation. She also was a reporter for La Voz, Phoenix’s largest Spanish-language publication. She is fluent in Spanish.
Sarah has a Master of Science in Global Technology and Development from ASU, and she has worked with Mountain2Mountain, a nonprofit that aids women and children in Afghanistan and supports the Afghan women’s national cycling team. She also traveled to Cuba to research media development before the United States and Cuba normalized relations. She serves as a faculty adjunct at ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and serves as an associate conference director and board member for USA Cycling’s Collegiate Program.
In addition to her consulting work at Marts&Lundy, she serves on our firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, writes for Marts&Lundy’s Mission Driven magazine and spearheads as many digital efforts as she can.
