
Tom Hofmann

Drawing on more than 45 years of experience in fundraising and volunteer management, Tom has worked with volunteers, staff, and boards in both youth and aging services organizations throughout his career, most recently serving as President of the Ohio Living Foundation.
Since the Ohio Living Foundation’s inception in 1986, Tom carried the senior responsibility for fundraising and operations, with direction from the Board of Directors of the Ohio Living Foundation. During his 32 years as Foundation President, Ohio Living benefitted from significant increases in gifts received for the long-term care sector and is well known nationally as a leader in fundraising in the retirement community.
A graduate of the University of Akron, Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in finance. He has also continued his education in the areas of fundraising, management, and leadership, and he has been a Certified Fund Raising Executive since 1984. Before coming to Ohio Living, he was Director of Development for the Boy Scouts of America in Cleveland, Ohio.
Tom has been an active participant in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and served as President of the Central Ohio Chapter in 1986. He was also a member of the AFP National Board. In 1996, the Central Ohio Chapter of AFP presented Tom the Outstanding Fundraising Executive of the Year award. Tom has also been an active participant in the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP). He served as the chair of LeadingAge Philanthropy Network Steering Committee and as co-chair of the Philanthropy Cabinet. In 2007, he received the Leadership Award of Honor from LeadingAge Ohio. Tom was a CFRE from 1984 to 2018.
