These offerings provide learners with best practices and fundraising tools to engage in the transformational work of dismantling exclusionary practices and deconstructing inequitable fundraising models – implementing frameworks that amplify the voices and lived experiences of socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities. An Anti-Racist Journey in Fundraising
This comprehensive webinar series is designed to empower universities, university foundations, organizations and change-makers with the knowledge, tools, and strategies needed to champion anti-racist practices in their fundraising efforts. Ideal participants are fundraising professionals and teams, philanthropists and donors, nonprofit leaders and staff and social impact leaders.
Transformational Grant Writing Through a Race-Based Lens
Over three weeks, learners will examine the intersection of equity, impact, and sustainability in grant writing, with emphasis on addressing systemic inequities. Through a blend of theoretical learning, the review of grant proposal case studies, and a grant writing exercise, learners will develop an understanding of how to center race within an asset-based framework devoid of deficit framing, tokenization, and saviorism.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Fundraising
This series is tailored for universities, university foundations and organizations that are seeking actionable insights for prioritizing and elevating the perspectives and experiences of socially, culturally and economically diverse communities. Ideal participants are committed to identifying areas of fundraising inequity that support systemic racism and changing these fundraising structures to bolster equity.

Maia is committed to the study, development and implementation of inclusive philanthropic strategies that advance systemic change in higher education, university advancement and nonprofit organizations. She is a seasoned industry leader with more than 18 years of experience in the higher education and philanthropic sectors and co-founded the former Office of Inclusive Philanthropy at the Florida International University (FIU) Foundation in 2021, which was the first of its kind in the nation.
