Penelope A. Scarpucci

Of Counsel

Penny joined Marts&Lundy in 1995 after serving the non-profit sector for 17 years in a variety of senior development positions at Duke University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, the University of Georgia, Emory University, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and Case Western Reserve University. She served on the AFP Board and its Foundation Board for 15 years and was actively involved in CASE. Penny served as Senior Consultant and Principal with the firm for more than 23 years before transitioning to Of Counsel. In addition to her role as Of Counsel, Penny also works with former colleagues serving non-profit clients and through her own firm. 

Penny’s varied client portfolio has included educational institutions, hospitals and medical centers, conservation organizations, and more. Her work for the firm has been broad, including feasibility studies, development operations assessments, and annual and capital campaign counsel. She has also teamed with other Marts&Lundy consultants to develop several benchmarking and survey projects for establishing best practices within the health sciences fundraising arena. She served on the firm’s Board of Directors from 2005-2008 and served as co-leader of the health sciences practice for 10 years. 

Penny is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Atlanta. She serves on her church’s Stewardship Board and served as founding secretary of its Foundation for 6 years. She is also a Certified Master Gardener and member/volunteer for several garden groups.
